A prisoner questions his fate walking the last mile.
I'm an amateur lyric writer who has been posting my lyrics on various songwriter boards for the past few years. Every now and then someone offers to put music to one of my lyrics. Since I don't sing or play any instruments these collaborations are the only way my work can be heard. This is a collection of some of these songs. You'll see they are in a couple of different genres.

Lyrics
The warden he said get up son, it's time Shackled hand and foot I slowly follow As they walk me down this hall of stone and iron My heart feeling nothing but hollow I'm waiting… Waiting, on the Governor's call Momma's always preaching about hope But I know our kind don't get relief The preacher's pleading pray, boy won't you pray But I don't have time for his beliefs I'm waiting, Waiting, on the Governor's call I've done my share of wrong in my time But I didn't do the wrong that put me here The jury found truth in someone's lies And the judge said son you won't be spared Start waiting, Waiting, on the Governor's call Got any last words, the warden asks No, I say, and they strap me in the chair The preacher's pleading pray boy won't you pray But I don't need his mercy here I'm waiting, Waiting, on the Governor's call I'm waiting for the Governor to call But either way I'll be released By the ringing of the phone up on the wall Or the silent snapping of the switch One sends me straight to hell And ends my time on earth One sends me right back to my cell I wonder which is worse I wonder, I wonder, which is worse
