Country, Country Western, Old Rock, Rock-a-billy, Pop Country, Blue Grasss, a bit of Blues / Jazz and on oaccasion ... a lit'l Pop Rock.
WB and the Western Union was my first country band. Playing for years as a solo or backed by other local bands for years. I put this band together, to hopefully get out some of my country songs, I had piling up. We recorded my first album, in my basement, as I hired one of those locale mobile studios. It was to be just a demo album. But some songs truned out well enough to see air play. the theme of the album was, Thanks Grand Ledge. My hometown, to which I composed an original song for. Most songs on the LP, were from the early 70's. The only new song was the Grand Ledge song, "Good O'le Boy from Grand Ledge MI." It got over 3 months of air play, as well as, "Move Over" "Hard Gamblin Man" Just a thought of you" and "Tribute to Christ Jesus" 5 songs, managed to get air play off our demo. And not one other member had any experience, performing outside their home or for friends. Mel Sharrah-Drums, Barb Morse on Piano, Rick Bellant on Guitar ... and Jake Jocobus on Bass. Not pictured as he joined the band, just days before our recording effort. But a great guy, who didn't mind not being on the cover. The band lasted 4 years ... but disbanded due to my financial problems, trying to get them promoted and local club gigs that didn't pay enough to cover expenses.

Story behind the song
Composed originally on piano, in the girls dorm parlor, or lounge at their grand piano. The house mother use to let me in, even late at night, (2 or 3 am), as she like me and my playing. The song was for a girl, I was dating in 1970-71. Trish (Patricia Goodel) a professor's daughter at CMU, in Mt. Pleasant MI. I was not a student. But she was! I converted or transposed it to guitar, in 1984 when I recorded it with WB and the Western Union. A Love song ... about suffering many unjust situations at the time, including unemployment, due to this back surgery I had. No one would touch me for a job ... even though they like me as a person. A lot of unusual ordeals back then, I was going thru. Not the normal ones most go thru? But ... Just the thought of her, even when not with her, made everythng okay. Trish, still has the original cassette tape, I did for her. Her father broke us up, (Even moving away from the area to accomplish this), because I was not of his or his family's caliber, (or so he thought), although, I could do most anything. A true jack of all trades! And he could hardly do anything for himself. And had to pay other's for the most simple things, due to his own ineptness at just about everything. Yet I was considered, uncooth and beneath Him or anyone in his family. We almost married ... and I think that's why he move his family so far away. Actually giving up his Tenior at the school to do so? Now how bad is that? Just to keep me from marrying into his family.
Lyrics
When things look down on everything And I get no help from anyone Thinking of you helps me on my way With thoughts and problems on my mind I think of you, and then I find Another ray of sunshine in my day. Just a thought of you ... And in my lonesome room I find I'm thinking of you, all the time realize, lifes not very hard. And thinking of you brings to mind how sweet you are, you're very kind Can't help thinking that because you are Just a thought of you ... Just a thought of you ... (Chorus): And Maybe you kow it's true Hope you don't mind what you hear But everytime I think of you All my problems disappear ... When things look done on everything and I get no help from anyone Thinking of you helps me on my way With thought and problems on my mind I think of you girl, and then I find Another ray of sunshine in my day Just a thought of you ... Just a thought of you ....
