Story behind the song
I wrote this song while sitting in a cabin and looking out at the waters of Elk Lake in Michigan. I speaks of the dreams of youth and making choices that affect our lives

The water's warm but restless as the clouds go drifting by I gaze beyond my window at the sky The gentle whisper of the breeze blows softly thru the trees and invites the birds to spread their wings and fly. Chorus Our Dreams of fame and fortune escape us one by one The quest for love beyond our grasp like the setting of the sun. If our dreams could give us answers, our direction would be clear and the things that keep our love alive would suddenly appear. The beauty of the ages can be found in but a few It's depth and meaning can be different (or the same) And as the years change our direction so our goals in life must too But the thoughts of youth so precious still remain Chorus The gift of love is given - not demanded nor denied It's light is cast upon us (like the moon) And we should not take for granted that it's an easy thing to do But these dreams I hold will all be answered soon Chorus
