Do It Yourself Alternative
Since receiving his first guitar at age 12 (a 1965 Silvertone) Ryan has been writing and playing music for his personal enjoyment for more than 30 years. After years of putting his music on assorted cassettes (and a 8 year layoff to take care of career and kids) Ryan put Pro Tools on an old computer in the back bedroom and began writing, playing and recording music again. It's a life-long hobby for him. Ryan plays guitar, bass and keyboards and uses a drum machine for the beats.

Story behind the song
Musically, the song was inspired by a Police bass riff from Oh My God and the Cure song Hot Hot Hot with the Beatles Got to Get You Into My Life horns thrown in. Lyrically, a local Rabbi inspired me with a lecture about the Sabbath, why the is special and how it should be an island of respite during the week where you should do something different. He talked about how we have a finite amount of time on Earth, how life happens inside of the margins and why people should take time to make every minute seem like two.
Lyrics
The alarm goes off, now. It seems too soon. Another morning. A new day looms. Pour some hot coffee; some buttered toast. Mind is on cruise control; just trying to coast. Jump in the car now. Zoom to the room. Counting the moments; can't end too soon. Need five o'clock now. Hurry and get here. Time moves too slow when you're not near. We're gonna get there on Saturday, on Saturday. Gonna go everywhere, on Saturday, on Saturday. We're gonna see the light, on Saturday, on Saturday. It's gonna be alright, on Saturday, on Saturday. All I wanna do is get to you. Minute to minute. Day to day. It seems so similar. It's all the same. Yesterday's over. It's come and gone. Live in the margins, where we belong. Kaleidoscope days bleed into one. Moment to moment, can't come undone. Does time control me? Do I shape time? Get it together; you will be mine.
