A nice rockin' song in none other than e minor.
We're a five pieced band with dual vocals and mainly a fussion of straight out rock and some funk/jazz
Welcome to the music of To A Generation.
All information here is written by Sam Bosco (Bass)
Story behind the song
This was one of our very first songs, it dates back to when the band was No Turn on Red. Its about not fitting into your environment and having the urge to not conform and not establish yourself.
Lyrics
Wake The Dead
(Verse)
Tell me which way to go, when I’m left here choosing the path that I must lead
I see my desires, skulk in the shadows of these crowded city streets
There are no stop-off points or escapes from the fire in my wake
Why does the wrong light follow me, when all of my changes are made
(Chorus)
I’ve grown tired of this place
It’s time to make my great escape
A thousand battles lost inside my head
False smiles, wake the dead
(Verse)
The shallow rocks and winding roads hold me back and make me see
The life lessons, and bad intentions, rising out of me
Hold my head back, as I scream, so that the gods can feel
The wrong the right, the out of sight, and all that makes me real
(Chorus)
(Birdge)
First impressions leave the tension in the breast of all my fear
Why can’t I hold back the emotion that hurts the ones that I hold dear
I have no time, I have no place, I have nothing left to be
But the last thing if you’re asking will you still take care of me
