Lyrics
Smooth Talkin' Ted Barrett 2007 I tried to call and tell you Why I couldn’t make our date But the fate’s conspired against me And the hour got too late I know you think I’m just another Musician on the make But if you’ll hear my story I’ll be straight for true love’s sake Father Danny from the Boy’s Home Called and asked if I would see A man about a pick-up He would give the kids for free If I would help his sister With some vocal harmony On her debut appearance For the talent show at three That’s the picture in the paper Of me and the naked blond Who got so damn excited When she heard we had won That her halter slipped her shoulder And her belt had come undone I wish she'd worn some panties To cover up her bum Father Danny got his pick-up And I spent the night in jail Till the nuns took a collection And came to pay my bail For fondling a minor At the annual charity sale But I hope you see I’m really just A pious honest male So… How about tonight? That’s the picture in the paper Of me and the naked blond Who got so damn excited When she heard we had won That her halter slipped her shoulder And her belt had come undone I wish she'd worn some panties To cover up her bum
