Upon basing several songs on several books of the Bible that I enjoy I came to 'The Song of Solomon' and thus 'One Day My Prince Will Come'. This song personifies both a love for Christ, and a hope for his appearing at the rapture of his bride (i

Hello Friends, Benjamin Blankenship here. I suppose you'd like to know just a little bit about us, seeing how you've visited our website and all, so here it is. Hope you enjoy reading, listening and watching all the nice things we put together for you. It's taken alot of work, but I believe it'll be worth it all. In 1999 with the passing of my uncle, God granted my request and passed his gift of songwriting onto me. I made a vow that day that I'd always use it for the Lord, and I'd give it my all. Both are vows that I have dearly kept. Things started out simple. I'd written some song & thought to send them out to some gospel groups to record. Yet, nothing happened. We'd name what we had BEN*JAM, as it's substantially easier for a complete stranger to remember than Benjamin Blankenship. Over the years we've used tracks, we've had friends who just kinda want to play for a hobby, come and fill in for us. Most recently though we've upped our status to a LIVE BAND. So yeah, BEN*JAM is a live southern gospel band who's on fire for God. Currently we're booking anywhere and just about everywhere within a six hour radius of ROCKWOOD, TN (where we're based); as you can see from our schedule. We recorded our first 2 full length albums in the spring of 2009. They are part of our first album series entitled: "You Need The Holy Ghost", which mainly deals with worship in a manner of up-tempo shoutin' songs, like I was raised on. In 2010 we recorded two more all original albums and released three. One was a repackaged reissue that people seemed to like from years back. We'd did it as another group, but it seemed amusing, so I figured why not. Aside from that there would be all of the other merchandise, like T-Shirts and everything. Back years ago I worked as a substitute teacher and a little girl asked me if I was famous. I told her, "Well.. Sorta." We've been on TV here and there, the same with radio. I of course am also a minister & sometimes am asked to preach as well. My vision of BEN*JAM is to build a brand, more than a band. I've had so many people tell me how outstanding they think this song is, or that song is. When people see BEN*JAM written across a CD - that's my name & that's my seal that what they're getting is quality. I get mad when I buy a CD & only like 1 or 2 songs on it. And while I can't promise that everyone will absolutely love every song on ever album, but I do believe that you'll love more of it than not. We've went out of our way for you. You can literally listen to EVERY song off of EVERY album straight through in streaming audio. You can also watch more videos of us than I've ever known of a Gospel Music group to make available. I hope you enjoy what you hear. IF YOU'D LIKE TO BOOK US TO COME PLAY, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT: SaintBenjamin.BENJAM@gmail.com
