Cheers, Everyone!
I was born and raised in Germany and moved permanently to the U.S. in 1986. As a young guy (age 18) I've taught myself to play the guitar and soon expanded to other stringed instruments and the piano (well, keyboard!). I've been playing live gigs for years, then took a little break. Soon, I picked up composing and songwriting again. I've been around for music for over 30 years and it still remains one of my biggest passions in life.
SoundClick artist Mike-K presents "Why Am I So Blue", an outstanding release in the Jump Blues genre. The track showcases Mike-K's instinct for crafting memorable music. Every element feels intentional, resulting in a cohesive jump blues track that resonates. "Why Am I So Blue" has performed across multiple SoundClick charts, reaching #5 in Blues and #1 in Jump Blues. Mike-K continues to build a Jump Blues catalog on SoundClick, one of the longest-running platforms for independent artists.
Hi Mike I've listened a number of your tracks, and all sound quite nice to me, solid recordings, and always strong melodies.
"Why am I so blue" Vocals are very enjoyable on this one, the sax is real fine, guitar is quite decent too. Drum programming is good, and that's a hard genre to program. Bass could use a little input from a bass guy, but it is solid and supportive of the track rhythmically and harmonically, so it does do it's job well.
Overall, real good stuff, and well recorded .The tracks I heard all had different vibes, and I like that, the sense of exploration.why ami so blue--terrific jazzy blues--what a voice and backing band--really enjoyed--to my radio for top soundclick tunes!!Wondeful collab work you done here. Love it allover! The production is very pro indeed.
Take care
LeifVery impressive team effort.
Takes me back to the early swing beat era.
Thanks to all for keeping it alive. Before writing a comment it takes sense to check possible song info !
Mike !
Since I don´t post in SCS review thread, I´ll do it here !
I like the instrumentation on this one ! Especially the saxes sound very nice, love the harmonies ! Guitar very tasty....nice and clean not one note too much ! The bass is nice but we are talking about Jazz here and a few triplets would be nice and would lift the swing element ! Same for drums....switch from HH to ride and visa versa....possibly a light crash here and there ! Weak point is the female voice that tends to float ! Think Michael Bubble, Mat Monroe, Lena Horn, Cleo laine etc....it's that kind of warmth I'm missing !
Overall....Very enjoyable easy swing ballad !
Kind regards !
WimExcellent production Mike. The female vocalist was more than competent, and the Sax was exceedingly complementary to what she was doing. Did you play all the instruments? Or were some of them midi generated?
its a 5 stars, no doubt, very cool song! Cheers!
