Story behind the song

Sad, thought provoking song, which begs you to lay it on the line if you've stopped loving someone. 
Sung by Sarah White, it's one of the first songs I wrote.
It opened up the world of songwriting to me which I'm now passionate about.

Never underestimate a clown
If you say you love someone, never let them down 
Or you may find their funny/tearful face may hide    
A strong character inside.

To make a fool of a lover is so bad,
Unrequited love is always very sad
And they will hurt when they know of all the lies,
But if strong theyll have the strength to fly.
