Twisted piano/lyrics intro leading up to a dissonant acoustic solo exploding into the real deal only to finalize with a kewl middle bridge and outro.
Drum recording tips, tricks and suggestions according to my own personal experiences and folly.
This site is my ever-growing online "portfolio" showing off some of the favorite works I've performed drums on as well as a conveyence of my recording and performance experience. I've included the home studio equipment production notes with each song in it's "Info" to achieve the guitar and/or drum sound. I mostly work in the realm of instrumental guitar and drums and not much with vocalists or bassists. I approach drums holistically and believe that drums should be tailored to sound unique for each song or musical passage as opposed to utilizing one base, overly produced "sound". I'm not using any extravagant or specialized studio equipment anyone else can't buy off the shelf and my intention with this space is to convey some of the creative tips and tricks I've used to recording the best quality at home that can help you get your drums to sound more real and energetic when translated to the digital recording realm. As most who will find this space useful have probably found, recording great sounding drums is never quite as easy as pluggin mics in and hitting "record". Tha's why I've now updated to a Roland TD-20S v-drum system and NOW it's plug an play.
