This is a driving Classic Rock/Blues style song. One friend said it sounds like Classic Rock Santana. Another says, bluesy Austin-style Rock. Either way, gotta love my friends!

Story behind the song
Ironically, I wrote the intro to this song first playing around with some percussion sounds over eighth notes looped on a bass synth. The title, the main guitar lick, and the first words of the song just jumped right out to me after that intro and I started writing verses. Most of the lead guitar and fills are done on my Strat. The exception being the first half of the first lead which was done on the neck pickup of my Les Paul. The Les Paul is panned left about 50% and the Strat is panned right 50%. All of the clean rhythm was done on the Les Paul. The intro was completely done on the Strat. The harmony guitar leads came to me as I was recording the song. I thought it would be nice to break away from all the licks and play something melodic! ;) I hope you like the song... please let me know, this is my first try!
Lyrics
Once In A Lifetime by Scott Lowber (1) Once In A Lifetime, it comes along A special kind of feelin’, like you knew it all along It’s there in the morning, makin’ circles in your head It’s there late in the evening, yeah, it follows you to bed… (CHORUS) Once In A Lifetime, …you just know …You better make it something special, hold on tight and don’t let go (2) Once In A Lifetime, you break from role You’re holding something special, then you threw it down a hole ’s not the way it oughta be, ‘s not the way to end You left it all behind you, now you can’t go back again… (CHORUS) Once In A Lifetime, …you just go …You better find that something special, hold on tight and don’t let go -GUITAR LEAD 1- (3) Once In A Lifetime, you catch the flow You find that something special now you want the world to know Sing it for your family, play it for your friends Wrap you in those lovin’ arms, you’re on your feet again (CHORUS) Once In A Lifetime, you just know …You better make it something special, hold on tight and don’t let go -GUITAR LEAD 2- -Refrain- Once In A Lifetime… You just know… …You better make it something special, hold on tight and don’t let go
