Story behind the song
Shortly before the 9/11 tragedy in New York, Dan Pinto was filming scenes for his movie, "Die For A Life." He was set to team up with several actors and shoot the scenes needed for a rare coin expo being held at the World Trade Center in the mezzanine level of Tower one in Manhatten. Having spent the better part of the day in and out of the WTC, studying what would be the best angles for shooting, it went relatively un-noticed just how grand the towers were. Shortly after September 11th, Dan revisted what was now known as ground zero with his camera in hand again. The result was not just etched in video, but forever in his mind. And the goal was to produce a song that was not dedicated to those who perished, but to those who survived by the victims. That was the premise for this piece of music.
Lyrics
Excerpt: Here as we live life on Earth could it be we've created a dynasty? Arabian symbols of hope it would seem we possess immortality. Just like the firebird, we rose to the shore from the depths of an ancient sea. With burning desire we succeed and endure. We're not fables of make believe. Just like the Flight Of The Phoenix, reborn from the ash with the power of hope and dreams. Our persistence of trying to learn from the past, recreating new life to be... We live our lives fearing what we've become. We're hypnotized by the pain that surrounds us. The tears in our eyes will dry up. And like the Phoenix, we'll return with faith in knowing we were born to be free from a World of uncertainty. Even though we're given no guaratee, it's more a matter of destiny....
