The arrangement of this, and the song itself, isn't as country as one would think country should be. But it's a great song and I hope ya'll like it!

Story behind the song
This song was the first song I co-wrote with my late friend John. This was written December 2000. The original arrangement was on piano but when I decided this should be recorded in the studio, I thought a more acoustic sound would be more appealing to the people who hear it.
Lyrics
Doorbell rang, 6 am, cold morning in July Opened the door and saw that look in your eyes You were ready to leave and say goodbye when something hit me deep inside Things have never been perfect between us Never once did we ever think it would be But we held on, I held on too much How could I have known it would more than be It would more than be Chorus: The best of intentions I thought I could guarantee everything you thought I would be I didn’t pay much attention when all you needed was me Not an actor in someone else’s scene Oh the best of intentions Fancy cars, diamond rings were all you ever see I worked seven days a week to make you happy I was too blind to see you were lonely Coz from the start I believed them to be I believed them to be Back to chorus Bridge: If only I gave you the kind of love in your dreams Then just maybe you’d still be here with me Back to chorus…then: Doorbell rang, 6 am, cold morning in July Opened the door and saw that look in your eyes
