A song about life and the constant changes, struggles and battles; and about the victory at the end of it all. (Lead Guitar by Mark Courter)
Let's just call it a "Cyber Ministry"!!!!
Story behind the song
This song came to me while thinking about the fast pace of life in today's world. The demands of a job, home and family and how everything is always in constant motion, never slowing down. When it gets really overwhelming sometimes, I have to just stop and remember who I am as a child of the Father, and that when it's all over.........the victory will be mine. Not because of my own accomplishments, good works, awards or abilities; but because of what has been done for us on the cross of calvary. Thank God I'm not depending on myself for salvation, but in the shed blood of our risen Savior; and that in the end I'll shout in victory, "the battle I won"!
Lyrics
THE BATTLE
©2008 Duane Rod
Waking up wondering what the day will hold
Searching for answers, looking for clues
Wondering if I’ll see the sun go down
Will I be on a high, or fighting the blues
Another morning meeting to plan the day
Questions all around, fingers pointing at me
They all want to know what I’m gonna say
I feel like I’m in prison, but they say I’m free
CHORUS
Ever changing re-arranging. Spinning around on shifting ground
Holding on to sanity. Looking for reality
But when it’s said and done, I’ll be the one
Who shouts in victory “The battle I won”
Doing my best, though I never win
Deadlines to meet, another mountain to climb
The demons see my weakness, confusion sets in
I’m clinging to hope, hanging on to my mind
Lord if I wake in the morning again
Remember I’m Your’s and forgive my sin
No matter what the world may do or say
With You by my side, victory’s mine today
