Lyrics
My Father wasn’t a rich man, he worked like any two men, till his dying day And I can still hear him saying, Son get an education, while you still can Ain’t it funny, how the memories, just fade away somewhere, in the back of your mind Only to show up later, and get in the way Seemed like, there was nothing the man couldn’t do But the one thing, that he never did, was cry (chorus And he couldn’t show love, and I don’t know why, he was a man among men, but he never held my hand And I don’t know why, it’s hard to believe that he loved me, but I still try He was no comic book hero, but for better, or worse, he was my dad, he was my dad, and I loved him And he governed his world, like a king on his throne, passing out orders, I didn’t always understand He was a man among men, but he never held my hand, and I don’t know why He was no comic book hero, but for better or worse, he was my Dad, he was my dad, and I loved him But I never, saw him cry, I never saw him cry
