RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
there was a blue shirt hanging on the bannister of the landing when I composed this tune. I kept the title.
Lyrics
we sat stupid in a silence that had lasted long my instincts told me there was something that was very wrong and isn't is absurd ? you didn't have say a word in that atmosphere I waited apprehensively averting glances you were casting, self-defensively determined to delay what I knew you were going to say what will you do ? my silent question to you and the reply was written there in your eye there to be read was every word yet unsaid maybe we are coming to an end 'you might leave me' are the words that I read loud and clear 'please don't leave me' are the words that I want you to hear difficulty that we have had recently can be resolved if compromise is involved name my mistakes, I'll do whatever it takes maybe we can make another start 'I still love you' are the words here written on my heart 'I still love you' are the words ignored as you depart
