Artist picture
Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Story behind the song
Final acceptance of my attempts of writing fiction and short stories over the years.
Lyrics
The Main Editor © by: Verne Garrison, Valley Park, Mo….May 4, 2007 Banjo tuned to Eb-Key of C..Moderate Tempo The Main Editor I (C) never made it as a (G7) writer, But making songs with my banjo,(C) instead None of the fiction found a (G7) publisher But now, my true stories can be (C) said Composing songs and little verses Created from the life I have led Singing all of those blessed occurances Still seem to flow from this old head Never meant to be a Steinbeck, or a Faulkner Though I have many manuscripts on the rejection pile The Main Editor was being my protector And was guiding me all the while. So now I ponder, with hopeful vision And hope the record will show His guidance lead me to this mission To sing these stories for everyone to know His (C) guidance lead me to this (G7) mission To sing these stories for everyone to (C) know

Hello Mr. V.G., I have been to Iowa and back to see my folks. Then I tagged along with Randy through deep Georgia while he conducted business. Tonight we are on the small Island of St Simon, Ga and enjoyed a breathtaking sunset! I have listened to 'The main Editor' before but didn't have time to comment. So I am back tonight to listen again. I'm SO glad you never gave up writing and storytelling!! Just look at all the amazing tales you have now in song. Your words are so 'real' and full of detail. My very best to you! :) Rosie
