Story behind the song
The inspiration for this song came from my girlfriends son who served in the U.S. Army. Each time he went to Iraq, he was away from his newlywed wife a whole year. He has served two tours of duty in Iraq. This song is not a pro or con statement about the war in Iraq. It is song, for the most part, telling how much a soldier misses and loves his wife.
