Faded
I remember back when I was young
outside behind the barn
I gave that girl a bright red string
she wore around her arm
but that was then those days are gone
and things they always change
and like the string around her arm
the color fades away
Walking through the shadows
the sun behind me falls
forget about the times that passed
I forget about it all
life begins to fade away
like faded memories do
yesterday is gone...and faded
The photographs still hang there
The smiles now so pale
hearts no longer reaching out
no stories left to tell
future dreams and destined plans
have found another place
like the photos on the wall
they always fade away
