My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - acoustic guitar, percussion, vocals Zachary Larmer - electric guitar, backing vocals Anna Beiswenger - vocals This song was probably the most fun to record out of all the tracks on "Morse Code". The very pretty and very talented Anna Beiswenger was asked exclusively by yours truly to come and sing a duet with me. I had asked her months before the recording, but had forgotten until I wrote the song and then re-inquired. There are four different versions of the same song -- another completely acoustic version, a full-band version, a demo version of this version, and then the final version. I decided to bring in my close friend Zachary Larmer to do the fancy guitar work at the close of the track, which I ended up looping because I loved the riff so much. Toward the end of recording, I said 'what the hell' and had him record backing vocals over mine and Anna's during the hook after the fourth verse. Also one of my favorite songs lyrically.
