Story behind the song
A Mark Cloutier/Richard Bethell cover of the Buddy Guy song from "Stone Crazy". Mark is on guitar, and I am on vocals, guitar, bass, piano, shaker, and drum machine. I wanted to pick a song that would suit both Mark's and my styles, and it struck me that such a raw and emotional song as "I Smell a Rat" would be perfect.

Damn, it's always a joy to hear Mark play guitar. But this, wow, this is the NEXT LEVEL in Blues. Richard's vocals are dazzling.... and straight from the heart.... Wow, it don't get no better than this, no. This is it! Cookin, boys! Peace, Jim
