A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - drums, piano, bass, synthesizer, vocals A mixing masterpiece, "Visions of Fear" was an epic track from the time it was composed to the final mix of the recorded track. I had this "image" in my head of how I wanted it to sound when it was finished, and it came out pretty damn near close to that, if not perfectly matching what I originally imagined. There's a cool compression that I put on the drums with a room effect, giving them a poppy, live-on-stage sound. The little synthesizer riff starting at 1:50 and ending at 1:59 was something I had written years ago, but never found the right place for until I wrote this song. This was another song indirectly about my father and his living situation -- it was impacting me directly at this point of the album, and through the lyrics, I was basically talking about myself having visions of fear in the night when no one else is there about things that can't be explained. Very intense, emotional, and probably the most personal song on the entire record.
Lyrics
It’s like you’re never going home again Back to the place you’ve never been In your life it’s kinda sad Leave it alone, it’ll never be the same again Getting these visions of fear Flashing through your mind Like a camera in a dark alley That I cannot remind you of Please take me back again So I can see exactly what you did to me To make me this way I can’t figure it out myself Far fetched ideas from everyday Inside minds that used to be closed Giving you memories in a plastic bag Take them out in about ten years Get me back again
