RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
I was rolling the two words around in my head, thinking how similar they are, and suddenly I realised they would fit perfectly into an old, simple tune I had
Lyrics
I heard some voices chant salem and shalom and I can tell you their sound was beautiful I don't where those peaceful voices came from but singing together they all made a beautiful sound and every vocal cord gave forth a trill and every tonsil warbled loud and shrill nothing to frighten, nothing to fear and in the singing all the harmonies rang clear I heard some voices chant salem and shalom and I can tell you, their sound was beautiful I don't where those peaceful voices came from but singing together they all made a beautiful sound I sensed my spirits lifted higher and higher by peaceful voices blended in a choir hope sprang eternal, fear there was none as the voices joined and sang in unison and in a bonded human serenade the most attractive music ever made poured from the heavens and all around was the sweetest purest synthesis of sound I heard some voices chant salem and shalom and I can tell you, their sound was beautiful I don't know where those peaceful voices came from but singing together they all made a beautiful sound keep the voices ringing, keep the voices singing such peaceful sound
