Alysson wrote this song about 3 friends of hers when she was trying to help them through some bad times. Ironically, she calls the friends her "Single Star" in the song. Never Know helped support Alysson's new CD "Looking Glass Conversations". The Demo version she put up at mp3.com back in the Pay for Play days helped pay for the studio recording and artist used on the CD. This song has been #1 at a number of internet web sites. This final version, with Robbie Link's Bass and Jane Pepplar's violin, was recorded almost 2 years after the demo was put up on mp3.com.
Lyrics
Maybe they never knew
Where you're going and where you've gone
My single star
And maybe they didn't like to know
Why you don't reach the line
Why it's not good enough
And the water turns the world around
And the stars fade to black
Your eyes are lost like a catholic saint
Like I know where we've gone wrong
Maybe they'll never know
Maybe I'll never know
How you see inside of me
Like strong beams in the dark
And maybe I'll never know
How you can pull me back
From what's inside
And the water turns the world around
And the stars fade to black
I see you, you're crying
Where did we go wrong?
Maybe I'll never know
Maybe you'll never know
Why this is the road we walk
Where we turned that made this path
And maybe you'll never know
How I cried for you to survive
What the years have been to me
And the water turns the world around
And the stars fade to black
Your eyes are lost like a catholic saint
Like I know where we've gone wrong
Maybe you'll never know
