Electro pop with an edge
Established as a solo artist in 2000, this electro wizard from South Yorkshire, England uses entirely synthesizers and drum machines to create uplifting and accessible synth pop which makes the music both commercial and radio friendly. The music combines the classic sounds from the early 80’s synth pop scene with today’s current dance/synth scene to form a catchy, irresistible pop sound. Creating music since the age of 10, he has been in 2 groups during the 90’s both of which created synth pop and dance music and helped to develop his songwriting skills. His album entitled “Soul Searching” released in 2005 featured the No 1 hit single “Already There” on this very website!! In 2007 the album “Inner Peace” was released which featured twelve well crafted electronic pop songs. It continued to show his development as a songwriter and is probably his most upbeat and optimistic album yet. Written and recorded throughout most of 2006 this album brings together a collection of songs which offer catchy electro anthems mixed with moody melodic pop. The new album "Sunrise" is his third offering and features a stunning collection of songs and yet again a further progression in songwriting. The sound of the album offers brooding electronics combined with commercial electronic pop. With dark offerings such as "This Way" and "Fever" the album still has a positive and optimistic outlook. The recent explosion on the electronic pop scene was a total inspiration and reflects in the sound and change of direction. Welcome to the world of mOOger!

Story behind the song
This one was inspired by the recent Yazoo reunion. Arrangements were Vince Clarke like and I love the extended instrumental. The chorus is also one that gets into your head.
Lyrics
We separate and we go into the dark A space that’s in between We contemplate that our world is dull and sparse And you’re just a love machine How do you know that life can be so dark When you won’t care for me How do you know my world can be so stark In this reality Questioning and praying for my soul to arise Is this not meant to be? Negativity and compromising for the surprise In this tranquillity We touch the void and we crawl into the space My world comes tumbling in We sacrifice and you fall into disgrace My head comes caving in How do you know that life can be so dark When you won’t care for me How do you know my world can be so stark In this reality Questioning and praying for my soul to arise Is this not meant to be? Negativity and compromising for the surprise In this tranquillity
