Lyrics
strange city
john crossed the road,
with his safebox in tow,
his mind stayed behind,
in the seventh row,
he mimed a word,
to the radium girls,
but it dropped to the curb,
and slithered away,
to be hit by a bus,
chief of carnival fuss,
the bells woke a mess,
in full naval dress,
they rang for a while,
then tried to check out in style,
but the hotel was gone,
it has waited too long,
back in the square,
the laughter combed back its hair,
and the lamp risked a glance,
but was shot with a stare,
such a strange strange city,
these hollow features seem so pretty,
im a stranger in this city,
its just an overpriced pity,
after the show,
we werent sure where to go,
so we consulted the map,
but it was taking a nap,
in the back of a shop,
that restored troubled clocks,
near the japanese tree,
that shivered and sneezed,
under the airfield grounds,
the zealots drilled til they found,
something worth burning up,
the atmosphere worried far too much,
about the means and ways,
to lose control of your days,
the stray dog returns and says,
you forgot to connect your head,
such a strange city,
