We’ve Got No Money
A Parody of “We’re in the Money”
New lyrics by Steve Bryant
We’ve got no money, we’ve got no money,
We made a lot of loans and they all went wrong.
We’ve got no money, the future’s not sunny,
No liquid assets, so we’ll just say so long.
We thought we’d get a bailout, like Fanny or Freddie May.
And now there’s really no doubt, As Lehman Brothers fades away.
The bag we’re holding, as we are folding.
Isn’t there anyway to blame this on Bush?
We’ve got no money, it’s not that funny.
We lent it, spent it, bent it, without a care.
We’ve got no money, our eyes are runny.
Look up mismanagement, our picture is there.
We thought we’d have a payout and a pension to boot.
Then Uncle Sam came calling, and took our golden parachute.
We thought we’d win it, but we stepped right in it
Guess it proves there is a sucker born every minute.
