Remembering the time I realized that I wasn't really interested in girls-but that WOMEN were proving to be endlessly fascinating.

I am a Garageband dilletante,
a rank amateur working in collage, having a wonderful time.
Story behind the song
Based upon the chord progression of the Neat's Song Red and Gray, the chorus is extended and the verse compressed. The opening lyric of the second verse, "Ashes to Ashes" is from Red and Gray, as is the (mis)-translation "Rouge et Noir" which also alludes to the Stendahl novel.
Red and Gray was my favorite song in the 80's, the first piece of "serious" pop I loved. I also have been a lifelong Roxy Music fan and had the idea to rewrite Red and Grey as an early Roxy Song, having been inspired by John Izzard's Roxy foray. It is in the end, an ode to elegant redheads-God, they are magnificent.
Lyrics
It’s not the end of the beginning
But the beginning of the end
I went looking for a lover
It seems I’ve lost a friend
J’ai Cherchez toute le monde, pour Le Rouge et Le Noir
J’ai Cherchez toute le monde, pour Le Rouge et Le Noir
Ashes to Ashes lust to dust
Emerald eyes and scarlet pout
Piled curls in red and rust
Out of the blue you knock me out
J’ai Cherchez toute le monde, pour Le Rouge et Le Noir
J’ai Cherchez toute le monde, pour Le Rouge et Le Noir
Dressed to kill you plan attack
Your Perfume goes straight to my head
Once you wear black you won’t go back
Dare say better red than dead
