Lyrics
SONGWORKER VERSE 1: Now here I am again with this guitar Feeling like a song is comin on But this kind of thing doesnt get far If youre lucky, maybe dawn Theres a mysterious connection Between my broken heart and aching head Where I wake up hearing my inventions But I have to listen to know what I said. CHORUS 1: Its what I do So its who I am Just a simple working man It dont go far But Im working hard Trying to make you understand VERSE 2: Out in the fields of December The wind is blowing clean through my soul It sweeps away the ashes and the embers So I dont remember growing old INSTRUMENTAL VERSE CHORUS 2: Its what I do So its who I am When Im not fakin for the man I pretend to labor And he pretends to pay Then I come home and start my real day VERSE 3: Sometimes the tears fall for nothing This time of year Im a mess The sun in the sky is just bluffing Ive had enough and Ill confess I saw pictures today of Puerto Rico I feel like following those geese Somewhere down below the Rio Muchos amigos work to be free CHORUS 3: I pretend to labor He pretends to pay Then I come home and start my real working day Its what I do So its who I am Just a basic working plan VERSE 4: I heard stories today from Venezuela And music of a dream being born Somewhere South of the equator Where they work the way of sin patrn Yeah, they sing the songs of sin patrn

Everyone must surely connect especially with this piece: I pretend to labor; He pretends to pay Then I come home and start my real working day Great Job! Not that I am partial. Yeah right! They just keep coming it seems. :-)
