Definitely one of the newest, and quite possibly the freshest, most unique bands that Calgary Alberta has seen in quite some time..."A Cry of Hounds" is ready to infect your ears, your mind, your heart. This band has successfully captured the sounds of some great 60's garage punk with these songs. Based on 16 b-grade horror flicks with such titles as "Beast of Yucca Flats", "Teenage Zombies" and "Creature From the Haunted Sea", this music will bring a smile to your face and get your whole body grooving to the music! All 16 tunes are now captured on one glorious garage punk rave-up album called GARAGE MONSTERS.

Lyrics
Maybe I missed it – I don’t believe you were pretending Some condescending – but not the way you were intending I feel mystic – an opportunity is wasted You didn’t take it – it’s your loss, it’s your loss You pick a poison – well what did you expect dear? It’s all waiting – there’s nothing but regret here So think about it – a measure for the time you wasted You didn’t take it – it’s all gone, it’s all gone It’s too late – it all comes around again It’s your obsession – our entertainment My cynicism – someday I may learn to regret it Until I do I am compelled to offer no assistance You wouldn’t take it – it’s your loss, it’s your loss Call me a sinner - don’t call me late for my redemption You’re something special - it’s easy when you claim salvation I do believe you need to put your words into action But not you - it’s your loss, it’s your loss

Wow, this is a real departure. Melodic and moody, as well as a crystal clear recording. The vocal is another voicing for you; clean and yet informed with your new "Hounds" sensibilities. Also dig the guitar solo which borders on jazzy, while being concise and brief. A lot of effort went into this one, and it has paid off!
