Artist picture
Solo act playing original and cover material on 12-string and keyboards. Available for booking in Central Oklahoma.
I have been playing and writing songs for more years than most of you have been alive. I started classical piano when I was 8, 12-string guitar when I was ten, and wrote my first song when I was 16. I am largely self-taught, but have benefitted greatly from the many bands I've played with over the years. I've also been an avid listener of music, and sought to incorporate many different styles into my songwriting. As you will hear, my songs reflect the fact that I've been many places and done many things other than just play music. They have, in the original sense of the word, character.

Story behind the song
This song describes how a country boy approaches the whole matter of love. I wrote it when I was living on 25 acres in Southwestern Missouri, in the town of Oldfield. I was so in love with my ex-wife. I was in love with the whole lifestyle of being a step-father. May you fall in love, again, as I have.
Lyrics
A Life Worth Living Now Dan Matheny – In the Year of Our Lord 2000 VI I’ve got a dream – gonna drive 18 wheeels, Talk to my friends on the CB radio, See how far these 18 wheels will go. I’ve made some plans, Gonna start my own band. Sing the songs the world is waitin’ to hear, ‘Cause love is on the stage, An’ we’ve got nothin’ to fear! Chorus I’ve got a life that’s worth living now, You’ve shown me how – to just be real. I’ve got a dream that I can call my own, But, I’m not alone You’re what I feel in everything I do. Do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do… VII I’ve found some land, Where I can be my own man. Build a house and start a family, Teach my kids to work and live for free. Back to Chorus Interlude (Chorus Musical) Back to Chorus Retard on Last two lines
