She carries a little melancholy in her pocket
even when she smiles at the world
she thinks she ain't got a hell of a lot to offer
she's just an ordinary girl
And it's alright to hold her in the moonlight

but don't be surprised if she wakes up crying
she comes and goes like a fickle wind
There's still a trace of memory in her eyes
of something that took her down
She'll look so far away for a moment
then she comes right back around
