Walking along by the river...
Generally gentle, smooth kind of feel with perhaps flashes of a rock kind of style in with it.
I've been playing the guitar for about 6 and a half years now and have been writing songs for the best part of 4 years, unfortunately only a handful of which I've had the privilege of recording thus far. I found following my first song I had, and still have, much more inspiration. Joining this site is my way of getting my music out there and hopefully performing to and entertaining the masses.
Story behind the song
A bit heavy, I wrote this song whilst sat by the river, contrasting my problems I was contemplating with just how bad it might be. My intent with writing this was to imagine just how a soldier of the 'braveheart' days (sword and shield in a field kind of thing) might feel/behave on the eve of battle, knowing full well that they may not see out the following day, and that their fate might already be known to or at least understood by the elements of that night.
A leaf actually fell on my notepad as I was writing the second verse...
Lyrics
The crickets sing a sombre song,
They feel the mood they're never wrong,
The time will come before too long,
The crickets know the score...
Leaves rustle gently then fall to the ground,
But one of many others rarely are they found,
Even as they fall they don't seem to make a sound,
The trees knows the score...
The breeze blows meaningfully through the air,
Softly for hope, strongly for despair,
The situation has no means of repair,
The breeze knows the score...
The crickets sing a sombre song,
They feel the mood they're never wrong,
The time will come before too long,
The crickets know the score...
Leaves rustle gently then fall to the ground,
But one of many others rarely are they found,
Even as they fall they don't seem to make a sound,
The trees knows the score...
The breeze blows meaningfully through the air,
Softly for hope, strongly for despair,
The situation has no means of repair,
The breeze knows the score...
Sat by the river the crickets keep you calm,
Leaves fall softly just at your charm,
You hope to hope the soft breeze foretells you'll come to no harm,
You know the score...
