Story behind the song
I call this "Un Tango Para los Amigos" (A Tango for Friends) which is composed for three Classical Guitars. I wrote this piece last year for the get-together of some friends in Manila. The gathering was so generously hosted by Olenaval and his lovely wife, Stef, in their very spacious abode. It was such a blessing to rub elbows with Uncle Ador (Elbaroda), Arnold and his wife, Alma, Ole and Maestro Tabo Derecho! I do volunteer-work for a foundation which gives scholarships in the performing arts (Classical ballet, Chorale Singing, Instruments-playing and Acting) to talented STREET CHILDREN. We are called the Quezon City Performing Arts. The piece in this MP3 is played by three of my guitar students in the QCPA: Divine Grace Hervas, 14 years old; Rizza Madero, 14 years old; and Mhaya Cuevas, 16 years old. All were total beginners when I started teaching them more than a year ago. My apologies for the below-par quality of the MP3 because: - the MP3 was just recorded in my office, - we can only afford inexpensive guitars, and... - the guitar strings are old because we can't afford to buy new ones very often. I pray that you enjoy this humble piece, as played by my very precious and beloved children.
