Verse 1
He painted blue upon her rainbow,
At the birth of her son,
A coward lies in the shadows,
For fear of the new born one,
King Herod sent his soldiers,
To kill the innocent one,
But there’s no way to know which one.
Verse 2
He said: “it’s time I really don’t care,
My throne is on the line,
I can’t share with another king,
For now and for all time,
So kill all the babes you hear and see,
And spare not a one”,
But there’s no way to find the one.
Verse 3
Now there arose in time a new king,
A king without a crown,
The coward died a painful death,
Revenge is quite profound.
The new king was a king of peace,
He preached to everyone,
He showed the way to kingdom come.
Verse 4
This modern world is full of cowards,
Who tow King Herod’s line,
They’ll slaughter all that come between,
Just to fill their cup of wine,
With armies strong they force their way,
Sparing not a one,
They want submission from each one.
Verse 5
Why is life without true justice,
The scales are never fair,
The cowards seem to get away,
With the righteous unaware,
Who bite their lips and swallow hard,
And utter not a sound,
Cause there’s no way to fight … the cowards’ sons.
