This is a little protest about how both the extreme left and extreme right look very much the same sometimes... Just depends on which way your looking

Funky Alternative Blues Rock with an acoustic Guitar and Harp. This CD is a completely solo effort written, performed, produced and mixed in my own home studio
I’m just a working guy that loves to play music. Did some writing and recording in 2007 & ’08 and here are some of the results. I do a solo acoustic bit locally now and haven’t played in bands for awhile but who knows what's next. I’m always open to new stuff. I wrote, play all of the instruments and sing the songs that you’re hearing. Also mixed and produced them in my home studio. Still compiling enough original material to fill up a CD but I’ll soon be there. So much music and so little time! I know there are a lot of folks out there that are making music but not that many that do the entire thing. For this CD I really wanted it to be a TRULY SOLO effort! Anyway, I hope these tunes will keep you listening! Enjoy! All the Best- Acoustic Alternative Pat

Story behind the song
There are several audio clips here. If you aren't familiar here's the short version: Ted Kazinski (a leftwing nutcase) was the Unabomber, Eric Rudolph (a rightwing nutcase) was the Atlanta Olympic bomber. Both psychos set their respective causes back years because of their actions. The last clip is a couple lines of a WWI fight song written in 1917 by George Cohan. It just kind of seemed appropriate.
Lyrics
Over There I chose life, does that make me- some kind of strange curiosity? If I don’t agree with you enough- to kick and scream and make a fuss If a bad day’s really optional- and there are no big deals- only small If I’ve learned to read between the lies- will I be content? - will I be wise? When I’m all pissed off- I get bowed up and swear- I wonder- What the hell I’m doing- over there? Come take me home- but I’m already there Well their cause was paved with good intentions- so no one even thought to mention All turned into violence- In the name of the environment The young men that just lost their lives- in the mess you made the other night Well it’s easy for you to lose sight- going down that path without a light Well I hang my head and sit back in my chair- and I wonder- What the hell you’re doing- over there? Won’t you come back home- you’re way too far out there The young men marched away to fight-to stand for what they know is right The general stands above the fray- as back and forth the battle sways They sit back in their easy chairs- and puff away on big cigars I wonder how they sleep at night- well they take a shot and put out the lights It’s hard to understand how they could care- and I wonder- What the hell they’re doing- over there Won’t you come back home- cause you’re way too far out there When it’s all been said and done- the talking heads have had their fun And everyone’s had their opinion- but still no clear sign of who was winning If I’ve learned to read between the lies- if I live today and do what’s right And if I’ve come to this conclusion- then there really can be no confusion Thanks, but I’ll stay somewhere over here- and ask them What the hell they’re doing- over there Can’t come back home- cause you’re already there What the hell are you doing- over there? Tell me what the hell are you doing- over there? What the hell are you doing- over there?
