DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. SONG OF THE MALEFACTOR Lord remember me when you come into your kingdom Lord remember me for night draws near Lord remember me when you enter your kingdom Lord remember me for the end is near Nailed to a cross on Calvary I’m repaying my debt to society There’s no mercy on earth for this sinner’s deeds O Lord please have mercy on me Nailed to a cross on Calvary Your bearing the sins of humanity Just an innocent man who’s committed no crime Lord have mercy on me for it’s time Lord remember me when you come into your kingdom Lord remember me for night draws near Lord remember me when you enter your kingdom Lord remember me for the end is near Today you shall be with me in Paradise
