Lyrics
L’écume des jours
The swell advances, rolls ,rises up,
Shakes its mane of tangled foam
Boils over and falls, smashed and fragmented
Just like my heart
‘cause I’m at sea, I’m sitting lonely
Feels like the ship is wrecked
‘cause I’m at sea, oh why on hell
Retired to my shell
And I’m steaming through
The roughest seas I’ve ever met
Since I left the port
I’ve been sinking
I’ve been sinking
Because of you
The sea seems rough and pure,
Long dawn rollers over the sand,
Rising ,in colourless ellipses
Just like my heart
‘cause I’m at sea ,I’m crying lonely
Salt flooding my neck
‘cause I'm at sea, how wild the smell
I sensed when I fell
And I’m calling you
the strongest love I’ve ever felt
since I left the port
I’ve been sinking,
I’ve been drowning
Because of you
I’ve asked the sea if I was bound
To wander round these storms
Implored the sea to clear the night
In my soul
And in the depths of the ocean, I’ve tried
To throw my pain, my tears, my dullness , my sorrow and deep sadness
Give them away to these waves
Just like my heart
‘cause I’m at sea I’m fading slowly
Feels like the ship is wrecked
‘cause I’m at sea ,oh why on hell
Retired to my shell
And I’m steaming through
To you
Superb piano and voice. ( don't lik the sounds of water at the beginning very much , sounds of tide would sound better I thought) Very moving song. Great arrangements !
