Story behind the song
A boy with a crush can only speak to her through notes because of his shyness. He gets a chance to make a move but doesn't. She finds out his intentions and well.. you'll have to listen to find out the ending.

i used write notes to girls when i was young
because i wasn't slick with the words and so i'd bite my tongue
when they wrote me back, they said i was totally wack
they jokingly laughed, and would keep poking my back
never did i remember whenever i got a letter
i figured i was better threw it right into the shredder whatever
but this one girl i had a crush on more than the rest
when i looked at her it's like my heart tore through my chest
i remember i asked her out at the dance bubbly in my speech
she said no right there, because i was a tubby and a geek
for weeks, i decided how i could talk to her a little
i lived in the opposite direction but i would walk with her a little
all the other girls always said that i would stalk her they riddled
and so i said shut up i'm not a stalker they giggled
but i couldn't even talk to her, my mouth was filled with glass
got so pent up with anger i would imagine that i killed the class
woke up in the middle of a test a little outta breath
dropped my pen on purpose just to get a little of a stretch
that's when i noticed that she was thinking of words
but little did she notice that i was thinking of her
quickly jotted down something so i wouldn't miss the end
got invited to mike's, good, she was his sisters friend
so i biked over to mikes, the light turned into night
they asked me if i'd like if i could stay over night
she was there too, she was over with mike's sister
instantly said yes in attempts that i might kiss her
we played hide and go seek, and she was hiding with me
my teeth chattered loudly so i kept biting my teeth
my hands were sweaty and cold inside a clenched fist
staring at the lips that i wanted to french kiss
but nothing happened it's like my aim bended
we were found and before i knew it was over and the game ended
the next school day i sat and wrote like five notes
because i couldn't talk to her, it's like i had a tied throat
never gave them to her i just stashed them inside my coat
but i guess one fell out and then she read what i wrote
i wrote down that i wanted to kiss her during hide and seek
but how i had no courage and how that night was weak
i found out as i was going home and that night i couldn't sleep
thinking of how she would read the writings of a geek
so that night i wrote a note for anyone
went under my parents bed and then i picked up daddy's gun
the next day in the class mike got a note
he was supposed to give it to me and he couldn't recite what was wrote
inside it said how she kinda liked me
he folded up the note to give it to me but he couldn't sight me
i was gone and i was unable to continue talking through my notes
though i was still in class, i was watching as a ghost
