Just a vocal track over a single sampled kick drum. Nothing much to it. Another rough draft that I wanted to record while it was fresh in my mind.
I play whatever comes to mind. It's just me, my guitars, my voice. None of it is great, but it's me.
What I've got here are some rough ideas of some songs. These are originals, and as you'll hear, they're not perfect. As I have time and the desire I'm going to continue to work on them to try and improve the quality. At any rate, I hope you can find something here to enjoy.

Story behind the song
I was driving to work and heard a Lomax recording from the early 1930's of an African-American Baptist Church. There was a leader who sang a line and then the congregation sang the same line again - kind of a call/response type of thing. I didn't particularly like it, but it got me thinking of doing a song kind of like that. But no "response." And also, because I'm not so much into church, it would have to reflect more of a sinner/bluesy feel. This is the result.
Lyrics
I. My life's been hard, and I've been lonely I got no home to call my own. When I die and I am buried, There'll be no tears to send me on. II. I've heard of this man Jesus. I can not say that he's a friend. We spoke a couple times in passing, I don't expect we'll meet again. III. I never claimed to be an angel. I have a heart that's full of sin. When I arrive at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter, he won't let me in. IV. Don't you blame my ma or pappy. You know they did the best they could. But I was born under a bad sign, All I have done comes to no good.
