Sacramento Area original rock adult contemporary style band. Classic flavor for the new millenium.
In a world where rock has become a victim of stagnation and screaming, The Trist supplies the solution to the problem by using great songwriting and melody! The Trist is a Sacramento, CA area band showcasing the talents and imagination of its members developed through years of musical experience. The Trist produces all-original songs ranging from mid-tempo rock story telling to heartfelt ballads and rockin’ blues. Songs with drive and an easy hook to catch your ear. Fitting somewhere between adult contemporary and an edgier sound reminiscent of classic ‘70s & '80's era rock bands, The Trist has created an Adult Rock sound all their own! It’s original classic rock for the new millenium. Comprised of an experienced trio of musicians well versed in both cover and original bands, The Trist creates a fun and exciting sound without being overpowering to any age of listener. Our music has been loosely categorized as a mixture of The Eagles, Dave Matthews Band and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Lyrics
Cooties to Cuties Words and music by Patrick Thompson Johnny was sittin’ at his desk one day In his spot near the back of the class And for the first time for no reason at all he noticed little Jenny’s ass Like a lightning bolt that hit him right in the pants Nothing ever would be the same From that day on Johnny knew he’d be a player in this age old game And when did they go from having cooties to being cuties When did it start to matter if their hair was the latest style And when did they go from watching cartoons to watching booty And now all they do is tease each other with a smile Jenny was sittin’ thinking ‘bout her favorite rock star Dreaming that dream that every girl’s ever had so far When Johnny caught her eye with a wink and a nod of his head Then all of a sudden she was thinkin’ ‘bout Johnny instead And when did they go from having cooties to being cuties When did it start to matter if their hair was the latest style And when did they go from watching cartoons to watching booty And now all they do is tease each other with a smile Johnny and Jenny got together, took a chance They made themselves a date to go to the next school dance The night started slow, you could say it was hit and miss Until their world’s both changed forever with a kiss And when did they go from having cooties to being cuties When did it start to matter if their hair was the latest style When did they go from watching cartoons to watching booty And now all they do is tease each other with a smile
