Slightly prog-ish heavy rock. For all those who truly, honestly love their jobs - congratulations. This is for the rest of us...
Just little ol' me - writing and recording heavy/progressive rock for the sheer fun of it!
, , and . . It's an odd choice, I know, but I've been using it for so long I'm just so damn used to it. Drum parts are worked out carefully on my kit, then painstakingly programmed in as MIDI data. Keyboards (where present) are done in a similar way. I'm not good enough at either to consider recording them direct. Bass, guitars and vocals are recorded through my TonePort straight into the PC. I use and a pile of free VSTs to knit it all together and it all sounds decent enough under the circumstances. Cheap and easy!

Story behind the song
Music: First inspired by Rush's "Animate" and written back in the Equinox days, it was later adopted as a Night Circus standard. Later, Mike and I reworked the music and song structure somewhat. Lyrics: Originally written by then-vocalist Richie Cooper. For recording I decided to replace most of his words with new ones inspired by my current job and the joy I feel every day when I leave there and head home. Recording: Recorded in summer 2008, the first song I recorded using Reaper. A pretty decent recording all round I feel although the vocals are a little iffy in places.
