Straight-up in-yer-face heavy rock - a song about an ego-centric prima-donna I once knew.
Just little ol' me - writing and recording heavy/progressive rock for the sheer fun of it!
, , and . . It's an odd choice, I know, but I've been using it for so long I'm just so damn used to it. Drum parts are worked out carefully on my kit, then painstakingly programmed in as MIDI data. Keyboards (where present) are done in a similar way. I'm not good enough at either to consider recording them direct. Bass, guitars and vocals are recorded through my TonePort straight into the PC. I use and a pile of free VSTs to knit it all together and it all sounds decent enough under the circumstances. Cheap and easy!

Story behind the song
Music: First written way back in '91 as 'Get Off My Back', then rewritten several times over the years and performed in every band I was in. This song was always our opener, something simple and heavy to get things going. Lyrics: The words were first written about an arrogant ego-centric vocalist in a competing band who pissed us all off. Later, the target of the lyrics changed to someone else, but the feelings were the same. Recording: Recorded in 2007, and only the 2nd song I recorded so is a little rough round the edges. Recently remixed to a higher standard, although I didn't re-record any parts so the rough edges are still there.
