Story behind the song
we had problems with the looper so the middle instrumental parts were kinda messed up. and the guit gain was zero at the beginning... chopped all of that off... “it took a lot of thought to put poetically what i’d been wanting to express for a long time: how the poor and needy aren’t necessarily the beggars on the streets.”
Lyrics
rain, rain, cover my land with your tears, rain/ seek again the prodigal child with your healing flow/ weep for the wealthy in houses of gold/ for beautiful faces whose hearts have gone cold/ weep for the satisfied stomachs and hollow souls rain, rain, water the desolate desert, rain/ shake again the corpses of dead and the dying man/ weep for the thinkers with wills of stone/ for strong-hearted men who can handle it alone/ weep for the hopeless who’ve taken the short road home. dawn to dusk/ the praying man watches Your back/ to catch a glimpse of Your eye turning our way
