This is a piano improvisation on this favorite hymn written by German Jesuits in the 17th century. It was translated by Joseph A. Seiss into English, and Richard S. Willis (who arranged the music from a Silesian folk song) added music around 1873.

Story behind the song
This is one of my father's favorite hymns, and I first played it as a Father's Day present to him. That was the beginning of my love for this hymn, which has sheet music also featured at The Free HIMbook.
