Story behind the song
Inspired by photographs of Mary Travers ,those showing her beautiful youth and those of her battling through illness in later life
Lyrics
The Photograph © Sue Bargh 21 3 09 How cruel are the years that take our youth Crueller still is the photographic truth There we are suspended in time With out a wrinkle or yet a line In the photograph world you`re still just a girl And look there we are in a romantic whirl How strange we are in old fashioned clothes Preserved in those days before we grew old How cruel the gentle summer rain That unintentionally roses pale Scattered round the arbour swing Like graveyard angels broken wings How cruel the love that never ends Forever recalling the joy and pain it sends For I will love you until I die And the proof within that photograph lies

Sue, I can tell that alot of thought went into the lyrics of your song and it came out beautiful. Like your voice,, angelic returns. Your sweetness comes thru' and touches the heart within. You're a butterfly floating on the breeze with much to offer the world. Your heart has been exposed and your message,, touching. Your Friend, BOB
