Acoustic rock and folk rock with country, blues, and American Songbook influences.
Formerly "Dr. C and the Stratocats," I'm now on a solo career as "Dr. C," but I had to change my stage name here because someone else had already claimed it. My music strives for melody above all else; I strive to make my songs memorable, so you can whistle a tune immediately. I see melody as the element most lacking in contemporaryr music. I love Sinatra and the Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, anyone who can write a memorable "tune."

Story behind the song
Driving through a bad section of Fremont, CA, with an overcast sky threatening to rain, this song came to me while driving.
Lyrics
Waiting for the Rain Driving in unfamiliar streets Soaking in unfamiliar sheets Waiting for the rain...to fall To cleanse us all Plotting my course from north to south Counting the teeth inside my mouth Waiting for the rain...to fall To cleanse us all All over, all over, all over, all over Pounding the streets in jockey shorts Rehearsing all my glib retorts For no one, for nothing This city's got me crying.... Scratching my head for bedbug sores Knocking upon the blackened doors Waiting for the rain... to fall To cleanse us all Hoping a stranger brings the sun Guarding my body with a gun Waiting for the rain...to fall To cleanse us all All over, all over, all over, all over Pounding the streets in jockey shorts Rehearsing all my glib retorts For no one, for nothing This city's got me crying.... Shaving the stubble on my cheek Washing my pits so I won't reek waiting for the rain to fall Waving good-bye to suicide Clutching the teddy at my side Waiting for the rain to fall, to cleanse us all All over, all over, all over All of the clowns are snorting speed Jittery laughter mocks my need for firmness, for substance This city's got me crying—crying
