More Than Me

This song talks about how we, as humans, tend to focus our lives around ourselves. However, we need to look outside of ourselves to really see what is going on around us.

Lyrics
"Everyday is a brand new day," Said the fine little guy Who lives with one eye blind. "I can see what I need to see." Meets a man in a grocery stand and he says to himself "Boy, smells like a brewery. A dumb drunk right in front of me. Everyday is the same old same and nothing changes," Says the little guy who sees Only what he wants to see. Take a walk sees a man in the park Lying down in the dark And his head is a nest of fleas. And he says, "That'll never be me. Got a house and a wife and a car and well kept lawn at lest that's what the neighbors see. They see what I want them to see. Everyday has a role to play and things to say that everyone expects of me. It doesn't matter what I believe." We're looking out with blinders on our heads it seems. Taking time to find the real reality Takes seeing more than me. The little guy with one eye blind Looks around to find That everything begins to bleed Life flowing out of everything Lost his wife and his car and lawn And it won't be long Until he feels that he won't be Found alive in the morning Finding lights when we're dark inside Checking out our finds Takes a side that's rarely seen. Seen only by those who see. We're walking out with bindings on our hands and feet. Taking time to find the real reality Takes seeing more than me. We're looking out with blinders on our heads it seems. We're walking out with bindings on our hands and feet. We're looking down that atom hole and finding strings. Taking time to find the me inside of me It's taking all that I can do and more it seems More than me.

Brother - for someone who thinks his vocals are not all there - and I listened to the first tune - to "More than Me", the insterment is developing in a most wonderful way. Your composition, structure and tone - is most excellent. As for the "Gift" - you are absolutley correct. And He has given you a great and wonderful one. Watch the lightning - listen to the wind. Study the stars.. this is His "Sheet Music". And thank you for taking the time to drop by our home and listening to what He has given us. We have a new tune you might like. "Say a Prayer". peace, Johnny Yellowheel

Really great tune, the lyrics so spot on. The music vibrant, sparkling, with a classic feel. I'm a big fan of a lot of Graham Nash's solo material, this one, to me, is reminiscent of some of his finest stuff. Everything about this...songwriting, the perfectly fitting solo work, the entire performance and production.....superb! Spectacular work my friend.
