The song describes the faded love of a man and wife. It is not bitter or sad and it invokes the words of the man's mama who always encouraged us with the presence of one more rainbow.

Story behind the song
A husband is watching his divorcing wife depart on a train, and returns home, recalling the encouraging words of his mother. The 2nd verse more fully describes their amicable break up. The final verse enables the man to encourage his daughter whose husband is leaving her.
Lyrics
One More Rainbow © 2008 Wild Bill Austin Verse 1 Only memories remained. He watched her wave goodbye From a disappearing train Reflected in his eye. He paused and then he turned, And as he walked away, Recalled some words he'd learned, His mama used to say: Chorus There's always one more rainbow Like the ones we've left behind, Another pot of gold That we can find. The promise of tomorrow Which speaks to us today Will guide us past our sorrow And help us find the way. Verse 2 Invested twenty years In love which ran aground. They could not rekindle The joy that they'd first found. That once bright flame had frozen. They slowly drew apart. He still feels the love That came from mama's heart. Chorus Verse 3 His daughter came today. She began to cry. Her husband closed their bank accounts. His note just said, goodbye. Her dad said she would see He wasn't right for you. Remember grandma's words, and Let their wisdom see you through. Chorus Sunday March 29, 2009
