Down At The Farmers' Market
I wrote this song about the Ithaca Farmers' Markets' pickup bands.
Lyrics
Down at the Farmer's Market
Down at the Farmer's Market they play those great old songs,
Bring your fiddle, rosin your bow and you can play along,
The kids are dancing while the parents are shopping,
The band is jamming and the quarters are dropping,
Down at the Farmer's Market they sell organic produce,
Frsh baked bread, so much for you to choose from,
Hand made crafts right off the rack,
Sold by the people who produce them,
Down at the farmer's Market they play those great old songs,
And if you know the words then you can sing along,
The kids are dancing while the parents are shopping,
The band is jamming and the quarters are dropping,
I once bought a back pack from a farmers' market vendor,
It lasted seven years, for me that's a record,
Hand made crafts are made to last,
And when you buy them from the maker, they are cheaper,
Down at the farmer's market they play those great old tunes,
And I'm sure if you made a request, they'd play one for you,
The kids are dancing while the parents areshopping,
The band is jamming and the quarters are dropping.
